SEARCH TIPS
Not finding exactly what your are looking for? Below are some examples search operators that can help refine your search:
COMMON SEARCH OPERATORS:
- AND finds documents containing both words it joins. (e.g., bass AND fishing will find all documents containing both bass and fishing.)
- OR finds documents containing either of the words it joins. (e.g., bass OR fishing will find documents containing the word bass or the word fishing, but not necessarily both.)
- NOT finds documents containing the word that precedes it but that do not contain the word(s) that follows it. (e.g., bass NOT fishing would find all documents with the word bass, but would exclude any document with the word fishing even if the word bass was in the document.) NOTE: NOT can only be used with the AND and OR operators.
If you are looking for an exact phrase enclose the search term in double quotes ("). For example a search for "lund exporer" will only return results that that contain that EXACT phrase.
WILDCARD SEARCHES:
- ? Specifies exactly one alphanumeric character. Can be used anywhere in a word. For example:
- A search for defen?e would return hits for defense and defence.
- A search for ?at would return hits for cat, bat, mat, etc.
- * Specifies zero or more alphanumeric characters. Can be used anywhere in a word, but is usually used at the very beginning or end of a word. For example:
- A search for mill* would return results for mill, mills, millers, millpond, etc...
- A search for *ish would return results for fish, catfish, baitfish, whitefish etc...
