I'll be up at Keystone in 3 weeks. Can't wait!  I've been there for the last 25 years.  Only 2 years we missed were last 2 due to covid.  :(  But we're ready to return!  Dave and Leanne are very helpful on helping you find fish.  They will show you on a map where to go and what to use.  I have never Hired a guide.  We hammer the walleye, smallies, northerns and muskys.  Got a 30in walleye and over 50 in musky on that lake.  Your going to have a blast!!  If you are an avid fisherman, you will not have a problem.  If your fairly new to fishing, I would call Dave or Leanne and ask who they recommend.  Good luck!  And get into the catch and release program they have.  You could win a trip!  I won one many years ago!  :)

and absolutely worth it... especially for new/big waters.  Get a guide the first day or two at least.  Speeds up the learning process IMO

Will be going up there again for the third time this late summer. Should have hired a guide the first year to shorten the learning curve. We have a group of 7 fairly accomplished fishermen, well versed in most all of the species swimming in Cedar.

We catch our fish and do as well or better than most, still going to hire a guide this season to learn even more. There is no substitute for experience on these wilderness lakes. It takes a lifetime to come up with a solid program. 

Hire a guide, blend that with your own knowledge and hone it down to improve your time and experience. Learning new water is a challenge and is why we travel 12 hrs. to fish these waters. Just don't let your ego get in the way of enjoying the fishery.
