Working on a medical exemption from second vax dose. Talked to Multiple border agents and all said my situation should qualify, but as always up to the agent at the window that day. Anyways at least I have some small hope. If not it will be a nice drive ??

Kingbass-  You can enter the passport/Vac data earlier than 3 days and then save that information,  but you must complete the rest of the data within 3 days of your entry

So I just want to be sure. We fill out the info on arrivecan within 3 days of when we actually arrive in Canada?  Not before 3 days.

The worry about the DUI is not a big deal. If it's that old and nothing else, he is fine.  I had one 18 years ago and have been crossing the border for 10 years with 0 issues. My fishing partner this year had one about 30 years ago. Should be zero issues.  IMO I wouldn't bring it up. Just get to the window, answer the questions and drive on.

One guy in our party has a DUI.  He is not sitting behind the wheel when we cross.  It has never come up or ever been a problem.

Guidefishing your info is always very helpful - thanks. I will be taking two trips this season. First one my buddy and I will be taking our spouses. They have always expressed interest in going so we're looking forward to sharing the Canadian experience with them. Our second trip is our normal guy trip about two weeks later. One of the guys going is a first timer. In preparing him we find out he has a DUI from 16 years ago. Have researched all sorts a various info about crossing, from no big deal to hiring an attorney to help with specific paperwork. I plan to ask the border guard about it when we go through on our first trip.

Has anyone had any experience with a DUI issue at the border?  Already told him to prepare his wife about the possibility of driving to the casino to pick him up on that Saturday if there's a problem.

No issue's crossing last Friday June 10th.   The only item that came up was when he said your ArriveCan was not complete which I knew was not true.  I asked if seeing our receipt would help which we had printed.  As soon as we handed him the paper receipt he said oh I see it now your good...

We were not asked about eggs did not have, or potato's which we had since the Canadian Website say's you can.   Then the typical questions the entire encounter even with the confusion by the border officer on ArriveCan only took 5mins.  Glad I had the ArriveCan receipt both printed and on my phone.

Bought eggs on the Ontario side, Approx. $6 CAD a dozen.

Return trip Saturday Jun 18th was uneventful.  We did get stopped at a check point, Officer was very friendly but professional searched the boat live wells, and all coolers.  Counted fish, checked licenses and we were on our way took about 15 mins.   This is  pretty typical and we get checked at least once each year on one of our several trips so no big deal.  Happens often enough I know not to bury licenses and to keep coolers easily accessible.

Water was high, more debris than normal floating around, did not count fish, just like last summer I don't know how I could of physically caught fish any faster so what is the point if you are in a constant state of reeling in or retying.

Now to get everything cleaned for the next trip.

We brought our 10 year old son with us June 3rd. No problems at all. Just gave them his birth cert along with our documents.
